New recruits
It's been a very smooth start to the harvest, thanks mostly to the presence of DH (who is working from home today) and Stiaan who was, as always, calmness personified. Well before the sun touched the tip of our mountain, a small team of 20 workers (fairly good haul for a Monday morning!) arrived to start snipping away at the Sauvignon Blanc in front of our house. Shortly afterwards, they were joined by two new recruits (wearing the most fetching pairs of pink wellies) who helped build morale at the back, 'sweeping' any grapes that had been missed and hunting out the snakes and our friendly tortoise. The weather remained fine and, thankfully, not too hot so we managed to take off over half the Sauvignon Blanc grapes before 12noon. We'll have to finish that block tomorrow...
